CROSS-CONNECTION CONTROL IN CALIFORNIA – NEW LEGISLATION

EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVE:

SERVICES OFFERED:

  • Serve as Cross-Connection Control Coordinator for public or private water systems.
  • Develop, submit and implement Cross-Connection Control Plans.
  • Conduct Cross-Connection Control Hazard Assessments and provide confidential reports.
  • Perform Cross-Connection Control Shutdown Tests for Recycled Water Systems.

EXPERIENCE:

Independent Cross-Connection Control Specialist (2001–Present)

  • Contracted by industrial, commercial, and public water-system clients to conduct hazard assessments, design prevention strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Partnered with Certified Industrial Hygienists to investigate and resolve a hospital drinking water contamination incident, identifying sources and restoring safety.
  • Executed Cross-Connection Shutdown Tests for a 36-hole golf complex with a recycled water system, verifying compliance and protecting public health.

Cross-Connection Control Program Designer (Public Health Official 1987–2001)

  • Designed, authored, and implemented a comprehensive Cross-Connection Control Program for 15 large-system water utilities in the Sacramento Metro area.
  • Developed local ordinances, a tester certification program, and a customized database management system to streamline operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Cross-Connection Control Specialist: AWWA CA/NV 44, NCBPA 12
  • Water Distribution Operator, Grade D1: CA 30237
  • Veteran-Owned Business Certification.
  • Registered Dairy Inspector: CA 206 Ret.
  • Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Sanitarian: CA #3997 Ret.
